Although the Black Sea plateaus take on a different beauty with their nature in every season, the most ideal visit period is spring and summer (May – September). During this period, weather conditions are more favorable and it is easier to reach the plateaus.
Plateau Visits by Season
✔️ Spring (April – May)
Nature is just waking up, colorful flowers bloom on the plateaus.
The weather is cool but clean and fresh.
Rainy days can be seen frequently, but it is a great time to watch nature come to life.
✔️ Summer (June – September)
The most ideal period! Even in high altitudes, the air temperature is around 15-25°C.
Plateau festivals are organized (July and August are the most active months).
Magnificent views can be watched from the plateaus in sunny and clear weather.
✔️ Autumn (October – November)
The plateaus take on yellow, orange and red tones, a perfect time for photographers.
The weather cools down, and some plateaus may be difficult to reach.
Foggy and rainy days are more common.
✔️ Winter (December – March)
The Black Sea plateaus receive heavy snow in the winter and most plateau roads are closed.
Snowmobiling and nature walks are possible for adventure lovers.
However, since it is not possible to go with normal vehicles, special preparation is required.
June – September is the best time to go to the plateaus. If you want to have a cool and nature-infused holiday, you should prefer the summer months. If you want to see calmer and more colorful landscapes, autumn can also be a good option.
